Fans vote for their favorite celebrity by donating money to the celebrity’s charity.  Each celebrity will receive 1 vote for every dollar contributed.   Online voting will be available from 8am on July 17th through 8pm on Sept 16th.  Votes/donations will also be taken at the event from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.  Each celebrity will receive a ranking based on the amount of donations that their charity received.

These rankings are combined with the judges’ scores to determine the overall winner.

The judges will score the dancers based on both technical and artistic quality as follows:

Technical quality – a score of 1.0 – 10 will be given based on the following criteria:

  • Posture (full extension of arms and legs)
  • Musicality (correct rhythm for music and style of dance)
  • Connection with partner
  • Complexity of dance elements

Artistic quality – a score of 1.0 – 10 will be given based on the following criteria:

  • Creative music interpretation
  • Storytelling through the dance and connection with partner
  • Choreography and innovation in the routine
  • Costumes, makeup and overall look

The technical and artistic scores will be added together and each dancer will be ranked according to this sum, for example a score of 20 from each judge = a ranking of 1.

This ranking is then added to the charity voting ranking to determine the overall winner.

As an example:

  • Couple A receives a ranking of 1 from the judges and a ranking of 3 from the charity voting for a combined ranking of 4
  • Couple B receives a ranking of 2 from the judges and a ranking of 1 from the charity voting for a combined ranking of 3.
  • Couple B is the overall winner because their ranking of 3 is higher than couple A’s ranking of 4.

Note: In case of a tie, the celebrity with the highest charity vote ranking will be named as overall winner.
